We’re recruiting Tigers and Mitie needs you!

Are you great at building relationships? Do you have an eye for detail and understanding technicalities? Do you work well under pressure? Are you super organised and good at leading people?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then we need you for a really important role!

We recently won an exciting contract for the Future Defence Infrastructure Services (FDIS) in Scotland and Northern Island that will form part of the Central Government and Defence business. We’re honoured to have been awarded such a prestigious contract and we now need our most exceptional people to help us. They’ll need to represent Mitie, working with our new client and onboarding and inspiring new colleagues.

We’re setting up a ‘tiger team’, a term made famous by NASA during the Apollo 13 mission, which is a specialised, cross-functional team brought together to work on a specific problem or critical issue.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get familiar with important historical sites like Edinburgh Castle and Fort George or diverse, remote areas in stunning parts of the country like Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides and Shetland. Or you could be working on Forces bases like Abercorn Barracks, Kinloss Barracks and frontline quick reaction force, RAF Lossiemouth.

We’ll be maintaining airfield ground lighting on operational airfields, looking after critical fuel supplies, overseeing the safe storage of munitions, and conducting hydrographic surveys to check sea ways are clear.

Is this a role that excites you? If it is, then Mitie needs YOU. We’re recruiting:

  • 5 Area Operations Managers – salary £55000
  • 20 Area Operational Support Managers – salary £45000

And there’s a bonus available too!

You’ll start around 1 August and will support the mobilisation over six months on secondment from your current role. You’ll need to be prepared to spend a couple of days a week travelling to sites on your allocated patch but don’t worry, all accommodation and travel will be paid for.

We’re looking for people with an operational background. Take a look at the role description which lists the skills you’ll need to be successful. If you think it describes you, please send an email with the subject line ‘Tiger’ to telling us why you’d like to apply and attaching your CV.

We look forward to welcoming you to the team!

Simon Venn, Chief Government and Strategy Officer
