We’re helping the Scottish Government be more sustainable

We’ve won a seven-year contract to provide facilities management services for 70 Scottish Government sites. The services include engineering and maintenance, waste management, grounds maintenance, security, energy management and cleaning at sites across the country, including the First Minister’s residence and government offices and research centres.

Sustainability will be a focus of the service, and we’ll be working closely with the devolved government to design and implement a strategy to help cut carbon emissions across its estate. We’ll start by auditing all 70 sites to collect data on water and energy consumption and to identify opportunities to make buildings more efficient. We’ll then use this data to help the Scottish Government set sustainability targets and implement solutions to help it achieve its net-zero objective.

Carlo Alloni, Managing Director of Technical Services said: “For the past thirteen years, we’ve been delivering key services for the Scottish Government and we’re very proud to see our efforts recognised with this new contract. We look forward to implementing our market leading technology and sharing our sustainability expertise to help the Scottish Government fight climate change and achieve its carbon emissions targets for its sites.”

We’ll also be using out landscaping expertise to improve the ecology surrounding the buildings, by planting wildflowers and installing ‘bug hotels,’ to encourage pollinators, Our waste processing division will also provide expert advice on actions to reduce the amount of waste produced across the sites.

Technology will underpin the contract, with the with the roll‑out of Aria, our facilities management app, and Mozaic, our reporting platform. The technology will mean the Scottish Government is always up to date on the work being done across its estate.
