Welcome to our 41 new apprentices

41 new apprentices have joined our Technical Services Apprenticeship Programme, which aims to attract and develop the next generation of engineers and give us the talent and expertise to continue supporting our customers for years to come. These apprentices, who joined the business in August and September 2021, are in addition to 18 other apprentices which started the Programme earlier this year. This new intake of colleagues passes our target of hiring 50 new apprentices in Technical Services in 2021.

As part of their training, each new colleague will complete a technical apprenticeship, such as maintenance and operations engineering, carpentry and joinery, or electrical engineering, to help them kick-start their careers in facilities management. The apprenticeships will last between two and four years, with colleagues combining their studies at UK colleges, with on-the-job training at client sites, including shadowing engineering experts.

Once they’ve successfully completed the programme and received their qualifications, the apprentices will continue their career with us as part of our future core talent. With diversity and inclusion our priority, we’ve made sure that our new colleagues are a mixture of ages and come from a range of different backgrounds bringing fresh ideas and perspectives into the business.

Carlo Alloni, Managing Director of Technical Services, said:

“Our talented people deliver the exceptional, every day. Through the Technical Services Apprenticeship Programme, we’re looking to attract and develop the next generation of engineers so that we can continue providing an excellent service for our customers, both now and in the future. We’re very excited to be welcoming all our 41 new apprentices to the team and we wish them a bright future in their careers at Mitie.”
