Supporting Ukraine

The ongoing situation in Ukraine has sadly resulted in over three million Ukrainians forced to leave their homes. Under the Government’s new sponsorship scheme, those fleeing from the war will be given the right to work when their applications are accepted.

Questions and Answers

Here are some helpful frequently asked questions that help you seek the support available.

The Welfare Pack is a payment of up to £100 to support the Refugee once they arrive in the UK.  In order to receive this payment, you will need to submit a breakdown of how the £100 will be spend – for example: Hairdryer £20, School Schools £30.

Once you have this breakdown, please send this to Claire Meadows, Claire.meadows@mitie.com who will arrange for this payment to be made in the next available pay run.  The payment will be grossed up, so that the net value of the payment will be £100.

The 2 days annual leave should be arranged locally with your Line Manager, there is no need to book these on People Hub.  However, please do let Claire Meadows know the dates when you will be taking the leave so that these can be centrally recorded.

The £200 support payment for hosting refugees in your home can be requested by contacting Claire Meadows – Claire.meadows@mitie.com

The payment will be made in the next available payroll run, and will be grossed up so that the take home payment (net payment) will be £200.
