UCLH team celebrate multiple award wins!

This month, our University College London Hospitals team have been the recipients of two prestigious awards!

The team were awarded for ‘Healthcare Security Team’ at the National Association for Healthcare Security awards ceremony. In addition to their win, the team were also recognised as runners-up in the Violence Reduction Initiatives category.

Reflecting on the achievement, George Weekes, Account Director, said: “I am so very proud of our Security team at UCLH, they are dedicated and compassionate and always striving to give the best possible service. To receive this award proves what an asset they are. Congratulations team!”

Tom Meridith, Security Manager at UCLH, accepted the award on behalf of the team at a black-tie gala dinner awards ceremony, which took place at the Edgbaston Park Hotel in Birmingham! Tom shared his thoughts on the team’s achievement: “I am so proud of the team, this is a true reflection on all the hard work and dedication they show on a daily basis. This, in my eyes, is a well-deserved win and I am so proud of the Security team.”

Celebrating hard work and achievement is extremely important; the incredible commitment of our colleagues should never go unnoticed. MyAchievement is where we celebrate these efforts, acknowledging the incredible work of groups like the UCLH Security team. The team have consistently achieved 100% service level agreement (SLA) performance over the last year, which is a testament to the first-class service they provide to patients – demonstrating the exceptional, every day.

Shifting focus to their sustainability efforts, the team more recently received the International Gold Environment award at the Green Apple Awards 2022’s Property & Estate Management category. The award-winning project, Mitie and UCLH Sustainability Improvement Strategy, identifies the development of the 2021 2025 Sustainability Roadmap, which has been aligned with both the UCLH Green Plan targets and the NHS Sustainability Goals.

The award was presented during a carbon neutral presentation ceremony at The Houses of Parliament in London. George Weekes, Account Director, and Victoria Kingshott, Performance Manager, attended the event to collect the award.

Congratulations to the UCLH team for their incredible recent achievements!
