Our team in Cyprus scoop a RoSPA President’s Award

The team from Central Government and Defence who work on the Permanent Joint Operating Bases (PJOBs ISP) contract in Cyprus is celebrating after landing an internationally-recognised award for high health and safety standards.

The RoSPA President’s Award is given to teams who’ve won ten consecutive gold awards for working hard to make sure colleagues, customers and others on site get home safely to their families at the end of every working day.

Organisations that win a RoSPA Awards are recognised as being world-leaders in health and safety practice. Every year, nearly 2,000 entrants vie to achieve the highest possible accolade in what is the UK’s longest-running H&S industry awards.

Alan Ardron, PJOB ISP Cyprus Account Director said “I’m absolutely delighted and very proud that the PJOB ISP Cyprus team has been awarded the President’s Award for Health and Safety.  This is the 10th consecutive year the Cyprus contract has won the Gold Award in the prestigious annual scheme.  This is an outstanding achievement and shows the excellence of our occupational health and safety management systems, the importance of leadership and workforce involvement in health and safety practises and the hard work put in by everyone on the Cyprus ISP team.”

Albert Shahinian the team’s Health & Safety/Masts and Towers/Gas Safety Manager added “I’m very proud that we’ve achieved the RoSPA award for 10 consecutive years because it recognises our commitment to safety across the Mitie team and to our contractors and subcontractors.  It wouldn’t have been possible to achieve this award without a whole team effort in good management, effective communication, coordination, cooperation and competence.”
