Mitie soars with NATS contract

We’ve secured a new five-year multimillion pound contract for NATS. This may be extended for a further two years. NATS is the UK’s leading provider of air traffic control services. It provides air traffic navigation services to aircraft flying through the UK. It handles 2.4 million flights and 250 million passengers in UK airspace every year.

We’ll provide NATS with a suite of FM services. These include:

  • Critical engineering
  • Energy and controls
  • Grounds maintenance
  • Security
  • Logistics
  • Waste management
  • Cleaning
  • Projects

We’ll bring our industry-leading technology to the contract. Our Mozaic software optimises workspace performance. It gives full oversight of our performance and management of the contract. Mozaic shows key data such as job status, time to complete, and first-time fix rates. Data gathered can generate insights to identify areas for improvement. This will drive cost efficiencies and service enhancements for NATS.

Our ‘Plan Zero’ team will identify areas for carbon saving. Our electric vehicles (EVs) will be used by colleagues where possible. Plus, we’ll explore the introduction of sustainable uniforms. The contract will now be entitled to our wide range of industry leading benefits. These include life assurance, free shares in our business, and 24/7 access to a virtual GP.

Simon Venn, Managing Director, Technical Services, said:

‘Through our industry leading services, underpinned by our technology-led approach, we are proud to be supporting NATS’ infrastructure and playing our part in keeping its 250 million passengers crossing UK airspace every year safe and secure.’

Tim Bullock, NATS Chief Procurement Officer & Director of Property said:

‘Following a thorough tender process and market assessment, we are delighted to partner with Mitie to provide our Facilities Management services. Their compelling proposition ensures a collaborative approach and smooth transition between our facilities suppliers. This move helps to support our strategy to 2040 by offering a safe service, an inclusive and diverse culture, a carbon-negative future and a sustainable business.’
