Article 11 May 2023 Mitie marches forward with new Landmarc contract to strengthen UK defence support Landmarc Support Services (Landmarc), Mitie’s joint venture with Amentum, has been awarded a £560m contract to manage the UK land on which thousands of Armed Forces personnel train. Landmarc will provide facilities management services, rural estate management, and operational services for the UK Defence Training Estate. The agreement also includes the provision of extra works that could be worth as much as £800m, subject to yearly evaluations. The initial contract will last for seven years, with the possibility of yearly extensions for up to three more years depending on how well the contractor performs. The contract is scheduled to commence in December 2023. The UK Defence Training Estate ensures a safe and secure place for UK and visiting Armed Forces to live, work and train. The contract will offer innovative and more flexible services, including the provision of around four million meals and approximately one million bed spaces for training troops. The training estate plays a vital role in preparing troops for global operations, covering 1% of the UK’s land and including Sites of Special Scientific Interest and Special Conservation Areas.
