Mighty Mitie takes on the Cateran Yomp

Could you trek 54 miles in 24 hours?

As the nation celebrates the Platinum Jubilee this weekend, four of our Mitie team members will be preparing for the challenge of a lifetime… the Cateran Yomp!

On Saturday 4th June against the backdrop of the beautiful Scottish wilderness, around 1,000 volunteers will trek 54 miles in under 24 hours in aid of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, a meaningful cause that supports soldiers, veterans and their families.

The route will take our intrepid Mitie volunteers, along with our support crew, through some of the most remote areas of Scotland, carrying personal safety equipment and dressed in Mitie t-shirts and caps. It’s also a fitting challenge for National Volunteers’ Week too.

Ken Allison in our Central Government & Defence team said:

“This event was absolutely made for our team and is slap bang in the middle of where our FDIS (Future Defence Infrastructure Services) Scotland and Northern Ireland contract operates. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated, not only so we beat our 2021 fundraising total of £5,000 but to make a real difference to the military community.”

And, if you’re local to the area and would like to watch or support the event, please head to ABF’s website. You can also relive the highlights from last year’s event below.

Best of luck to everyone taking part, and thank you for supporting this deserving cause.
