Jo is an NHS Hero!

Our own Jo Wright, Director of Estates, Health Communities, won a Staffordshire Heroes award recently for her exceptional achievements in the fight against Covid.

Jo, who is based at Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley and is an engineer by profession, was highly commended in the NHS Heroes category of awards.

At the start of the pandemic in early 2020, Jo devoted countless hours to transforming rooms and the accident and emergency department at Royal Stoke Hospital for the challenges of Covid. She was then called upon by NHS England to help design and build the Nightingale hospital in Manchester. This was completed in two weeks – during which time Jo didn’t see her family at all, to protect them from possible infection.

On top of all that, Jo found time to volunteer for the Red Cross at local vaccination centres.

In the words of her colleague Sean Robson, Patient Experience and Quality Manager, “Jo’s a legend!”
