Givetober is back

This October, we’re once again launching our ambitious GivingBack campaign- Givetober. This time, we want to achieve 3,000 volunteering hours in one month!

Together we’ve achieved 5,077 volunteering hours so far this financial year, which represents 31% of our Social Value target of 16,320 hours. Help us to increase this by volunteering this October.

All salaried employees are gifted 10 volunteering hours per financial year. If you’ve not yet used your annual volunteering day, sign up this October. Hourly colleagues can also take part upon client agreement and on a case-by-case basis.

How do I volunteer?

It’s easier than ever to volunteer. Sign up to the DoIT platform today and find a great volunteering opportunity near you?

DoIT platform is set up to help match charities and people who want to help across the whole UK. Once signed up, you’ll be connected with thousands of volunteering opportunities.

You can search by location to find something close to where you live. The choices are vast: from helping out in charity shops and with children’s clubs to supporting court witnesses and much more. Plus there are plenty of virtual / from home opportunities, ranging from coaching or mentoring people to help prepare them to get onto work, to running online clubs and activities for older people.

As part of our commitment to the Military, we’re also getting behind the Royal British Legion’s poppy appeal.  Find out more here

What do I need to do?

  • You just need to secure a volunteering opportunity and get your manager’s approval for the time off. Don’t forget to take some photos and share how you got on with GivingBack@mitie.com.
