Mitie Foundation

Our initiatives provide varied life opportunities, develop untapped talent and aim to raise aspirations and change minds.

We create Social Value by helping sometimes overlooked but enthusiastic, capable and diverse participants into sustainable and fulfilling employment.

Established in 2013, the Foundation is a registered charity wholly funded by Mitie Group plc but operating independently with a separate board and management structure.

The Foundation supports the following groups with tailored programmes to help them overcome the unique barriers they face:

  • Long term unemployed
  • Disabled and those with learning difficulties
  • Veterans
  • Ex-offenders
  • Young people

Our activities

As a key contributor to Mitie’s social value strategy, the Mitie Foundation’s activities align with the three key pillars: Employment, Responsibility and Community.

Our activities include:

  • Supporting candidates through work experience and employability sessions
  • Supporting young people and communities through Business Challenge Days, corporate charity partnerships and career development
  • Partnership with Social Enterprise UK to support procurement
  • Client Partnerships and Bid Support
  • Employee Volunteering Programme for non front line employees

Get involved

Mitie colleagues can volunteer with the Mitie Foundation and have the opportunity to provide mentoring, conduct mock interviews and assist Business Challenge Days. Volunteering is also available with several partner charities aligned to Mitie’s social value framework.

The initiative, ‘Giving back’ is open to all non front line colleagues and encourages them to use their annual volunteering day to support good causes. Further information about eligibility and the volunteering process can be found in the volunteering procedure.
