Article 5 June 2020 Cycle to Work – Going up a gear Our Cycle to Work scheme enrolment window will be open from 1 to 30 June 2020. This scheme saves you between 25-39% on a bike and accessories (or even more when you take into account the offers available through the scheme). You pay nothing upfront, all the payments are spread out and taken tax efficiently from your salary each month. Following feedback from our colleagues, we’re also increasing the limit you can spend through the scheme from £1,000 to £3,000! We recognise that commuting is likely to look very different when lockdown eases, so we hope that this increase comes in handy to those of you looking to take to two wheels. It’s important that you stay safe on the roads, so please remember that you can purchase additional accessories like helmets and high vis jackets through the scheme too! For more information or to apply go to www.cyclescheme.co.uk/mitie What if you are on furlough? The government has confirmed that salary sacrifice deductions for Cycle to Work cannot be taken from furlough pay. This means that if you’re currently furloughed, you cannot participate in this enrolment window. The enrolment window will open again later this year to allow colleagues on furlough to take part. The exact date is yet to be confirmed but this is likely to be in September or October.
