Article 15 December 2022 Board members out and about visiting you this December This month, our Non-Executive Directors have been out and about across the organisation to hear from you about what’s going well at Mitie, what could be improved and what really matters to you. Our Chairman of the board Derek Mapp and non-Executive Director Mary Reilly attended the Enable event on 7th December to mark Disability History month. Enable is a support network here at Mitie for colleagues who live with physical disabilities and neurodiversity. Derek and Mary heard from a range of speakers about the Enable Network, as well as hearing from colleagues about their personal experiences, how Mitie has supported them and the future of disability inclusion at Mitie. Mary and fellow non-executive Director Jenny Duvalier also visited Mitie colleagues at the Co Op Distribution centre in Biggleswade this December. Colleagues spoke positively about working on the account, including receiving the Winter Support package. They also spoke about areas that could be improved including access to more cleaning equipment, greater selection of choices in the canteen, particularly at breakfast times for those that have just worked a night shift and also better transportation to help those that travel in from the site from neighbouring towns. Jenny and Mary also had a tour of the distribution centre and met the senior leader team who explained about all the work that Mitie carries out on the site from security to cleaning. Jenny Duvalier also met with colleagues across the business this month to talk about reward and recognition to understand what’s working and what else colleagues want to see. Colleagues were complimentary about Mitie benefits including the Winter Support package and were aware of the share schemes and free shares but mentioned that sometimes accessing Celebration Hub for the deals and discounts could be confusing. MyVoice At Mitie, everyone’s voice deserves to be heard. So when we have something to say, MyVoice makes sure our message gets through – loud and clear. By giving us all the opportunity to speak and be heard, we make things better, together. There are plenty of ways to share your insights and ideas for improving work at Mitie. Jenny Duvalier, one of Mitie’s non-executive directors is responsible for ensuring that the ‘colleague voice’ is considered in Board discussions and decisions. Jenny and the other non- executive directors have over the last 12 months she has been out visiting many of you up and down the country both virtually and in-person where possible to hear about your experiences of working at Mitie. Jenny and other board members will continue to do this over the next 12 months and will be visiting lots of different parts of Mitie and feedback improvements and changes to the board. Mary and Roger recently visited colleagues working on the Amazon account in Coventry. Read about it here.
